It is recommended and even strongly advised that any steel frame (including ours) is disassembled once a year to have the inside of the frame re-coated with "Frame Saver". Since steel is a ferrous metal, it will corrode (rust) and will slowly deteriorate your frame over time if this is not done. We frame save every frame prior to shipment (you'll notice a oily tar coming from the bottom bracket, head tube area or drain holes) and this treatment typically lasts around 2 years. But if you ride your bikes like we do, in all of nature's elements we recommend re-coating every year just to be safe. Rust is not covered under our warranty and it is up to you to take good care of your Milwaukee bicycle.
